Health and Safety Plan
This plan has been created to inform and educate the Hartford Campus community on procedures that should be followed in the event of serious or emergency situations. It has been specifically developed to ensure a safe efficient evaluation process. The Hartford Campus Health and Safety Committee in collaboration with UConn’s Police and Fire Departments, the Office of Diversity and Equity, and West Hartford’s Fire and Police Departments, have reviewed these protocols to ensure that each of these situations are handled properly and thoroughly. If you are aware of health and safety issues on campus, please contact one of the committee members or the Campus Director. The Hartford Campus Health and Safety Committee has established protocols to ensure emergency situations are handled promptly, properly and thoroughly. Students, faculty and staff should familiarize themselves with these procedures. When calling 911, speak calmly and clearly giving the dispatcher a thorough description of the situation (include your name, your status, i.e. student, staff, faculty or administration and the exact location of the incident.) This information is important so that the dispatcher can alert the appropriate emergency response personnel to provide the most efficient response.
